Data communication

Data communication bridges distances, literally. Indifferent if it is 1 metre or millions of kilometres. By cable, infra-red, RF, by laser or any other way. One way is easier than the other. One way is less reliable but has many other advantages over the others. Think about wireless communication. There is a large chance of distortion but the advantage is that you don’t need cables. And a good data communication protocol will ensure that the message comes through correctly.

Our instruments communicate their data. Through cable or through the air. This way we make remote measurements where the data is wireless transferred through GPRS to the Internet. So it doesn’t matter where you are on earth. You can access the measurements from a machine if you have an Internet connection available.
